2017 Acura MDX Review - All You Need To Know About Acura MDX

2017 Acura MDX all-wheel drive with the advanced package it just arrived have not been in the car got the key fob me but I do know a little bit about this so I want to give you a quick first take a walk around overview this is not a review whatsoever I've done little to no research except for my own experience with the Acura brand so don't set the bar too high I do know this is a 3.5 litre V6 mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission this has a variable cylinder management which means when you're going to high speeds and drop down from 16 to for something like that 290 horses 280 290 and 276 panel peter torque I also know for a fact we're rolling on 20-inch alloy wheels so it's pretty sweet see what they've done here anything new home this is definitely new check out this I'm serious I have not haven't really seen this card all in fact it arrived while I was gone so I pick up the keys and look at the spec sheet and this is priestly I've never seen this before that is really sharp the jewel I headlights that's a normal thing that looks pretty sharp let's see what's going on the inside we're going to do one of those one takers again so the key fob it's locked unlocked when I do that these open up going to i hope the sun's not too bad with Blair let's see off told this person was he dropped it off pretty good who had your car smell started up switch the camera around cause we're doing one take nothing to highly produced with these first look walk around just arrived that's what this is how my god is that just arrived video Who am I kidding so I don't notice anything new about that this got a nice blue tint to it but that doesn't seem to be out of the ordinary so two screens this is probably touch screen this is touchscreen this is not FM satellite ok climate controls this is all from previous years camera system here so over-the-top one shows camera views and there we go there to see if they have us be back in here no there yes auxiliary USB port always look for that so I can charge my phone when I'm on the go dynamic mode here so what that is oh these are your integrated dynamic system comfort normal and sport driving modes and i can see that here in the instrument cluster him again very soon the top and the ACC and LKS that's adaptive cruise control and Lane Keeping Assist system that's that is also here this is an automatic start/stop button so when you have this engaged it's called auto engine idle stop enabled so it's enabled right now so when you're a stoplight for example it in or you come to a stop the car basically shuts down to save on fuel economy and then fires back up again when you hit the accelerator so that supposed to help their steering wheel mounted controls let me see anything different here nothing really different there's your lane keeping so stays within the lane when you're driving to the serial should shiver or vibrate heated seats this is adaptive cruise control so you can set the distance between you and the car in front of you trip counter bluetooth on this hand left hand side there's where you have your cruise control blind-spot warning over here or lane departure warning right there oops sorry lane departure warning paddle shifters on the side on the steering column steering wheel so it moves there right there so with the advanced we've got one sunroof three-row passenger SUV i just got to return for explorer and they had three row passenger is a three-row a passenger SUV so nice maybe do a little comparison look at some nice leather in here too nice stitching so looks really sharp let's go ahead and go back seat that was kind of my position to drive it move it too much but we have captain's chairs back here so I think this can probably go up a little bit further to fit my size and 511 even so and I still have probably other inch I can move with i have a couple inches right here between my knee the back of the c-4 space see what they have here in the center compartment this slides open no USB port but cup holders here climate controls down below for the middle passengers nice a trim on the doors advisors to open up looks good how easy is it to get in the front seat I say front seat I meant to say backseat but there is your front seat view ok Oh blank handle looking good so far that's kind of skip the backseat for now little awkward when I’m doing a one-handed so switch around here they gotta hold here in the button to open the lift gate I do have some numbers on this super handling all-wheel drive should take it off-road hmm accurate hasn't had any problems with me going off-road the past so here we go back behind his back row seats you're looking at 15 cubic feet of volume right here see what they got the spare compartment that's going to increase your cargo volume if you want to utilize that fold these down to push along let's try something yes ok so now you're looking at 38 cubic feet of volume for storage behind here I know that for a fact you fold down that second row it goes 268 cubic feet of volume clips that function is not available starting at them this is kind of a high spot don't like how high that is well and there is the button to close it alright if you guys are gonna make some noise you put you on camera this is Hamlet who's back here there's max and there's Hershey and there's Hamlet right there hey Amy thanks for making an appearance hersh hersh last we can see other she is here she alright we're worried ok fuel economy 19 city 26 highway is what the estimated fuel economy is you know I’ll do I’ll try it for a week and I’ll give you my numbers can figure out the Sun right now and price point here it is 57 thousand dollars for this 2017 Acura mdx this is the advanced all-wheel drive so I think that's the highest trim level here's my keys also says modern steel metallic for the exterior color looks good also my week with it and I’ll do some research more research on it i don't know I should go off-road capable of it but I'm not sure it's worth it we want to keep that the car is flowing the press vehicles flowing.

2017 Acura ILX Review - All You Need To Know About Acura ILX

When it debuted in 2013 the Acura ILX didn't exactly set the entry luxury world of fire maybe it looked to playing maybe it's Honda civic roots held it back either way the ILX needed help that's where a mid-cycle refresh comes into play where an accurate extensively reworked the ILX is exterior and the suspension made a 2.4 liter 201 horsepower engine standard pair that with a standard eight speed dual clutch transmission and fancied up the interior origin stories are fine but the real trick is whether the ILX is a true competitor for the latest breed of luxury compact cars let's start outside where edge your faces standard LED tails and jus light LED headlights give the ILX striking appearance Mercedes-Benz CLA still gets the nod were evocative design is concerned that the Merc is also much pricier inside we certainly appreciate expanded use of soft materials the layout could be more visually daring dimensionally front occupants have plenty of space the rear seat headroom favor shorter passengers especially in the middle position strangely the rear seat back is a one-piece unit requiring empty back seats you want to carry along items speaking of seeds for some reason there's no seat back pocket on the driver's side while a lack of adjustable lumbar support into the ILX is frugal roots a brighter note the rear floor is flat facilitating improved free passenger leg space another interesting interior element is an optional infotainment system with separate touch and display screens split presentation is our favorite and deserting which icons are actually selectable is tricky since they all have blanked out with sufficient familiarity system works well enough ok the cabin might be a mixed bag but the real test is how the ILX drives while it's tempting to describe the ILX as the most refined Honda Civic on the planet let's just say it drives like a proper accurate the steering has a fluidic smooth - - its steering effort or light but there's a sense of connectedness to the front tires which is always a nice thing meanwhile the suspension absorbed road imperfections with the ease of a Krav Maga instructor it's almost like driving a luxury car into sport just the hint adding to the luxurious aura in the ILX is a notable lack of wind and road noise very quiet in here not only will the tedious sounds of diesel engines industrial equipment and other people not intrude but the horrible sounds of you singing along with Alabama Shakes will not get out congratulations Oh one interesting detail when driving the ILX is the transmission is an eight speed dual clutch but it's not like other HP dual clutches kind of like Michael Jackson is not like other guys it has a torque converter which means when you come to a stop like I'm doing right now and you leave from that stop how smooth that is it's just like driving a regular automatic sometimes dual clutches can't pull that trick off this one can also your changes are Swift and incredibly smooth it's a nice dual clutch with its eight-speed transmission four-cylinder engine combination the Acura ILX both if not class-leading at least healthy fuel efficiency so any savings at the pump are partially offset by a thirst for premium fuel pricing for the Acura ILX start slightly less than twenty nine thousand dollars including destination which considering the standard equipment list is pretty competitive base level amenities include a multi-angle rear view camera dual zone climate control keyless entry with push button start heated front seats and an 8 way power driver seat moving up to the premium model adds leather in blind spot warning while a two-thousand-dollar a spec package tax on 18-inch wheels a trunk spoiler and various styling flourishes but no real performance games and the safety front a thirteen hundred dollar Acura watch package adds Lane Keeping Assist collision alert and adaptive cruise control for a value-priced semi luxury alternative the 22 thousand dollar Buick Verano might be worth a look but from an equipment and brand perspective the Acura ILX is better aligned with these subjective Mercedes-Benz CLA250 the sophisticated Audi A3 and these sporty but less practical to door BMW 2-series a trio that might trump the ILX for style driving thrills and intangible desirability our concern which the Acura undercuts by up to four thousand dollars clouding the value picture ever so slightly are projected ILX resale values that trail the Audi and Mercedes Benz if you look at the Acura ILX and think fancied up Honda civic that's not totally untrue but it's also missing the point the Honda civic is a great car yes the ILX might lack the luxury halo glow of a German mark but what it lacks in that stuff it makes up for in value efficiency and dependability and for some luxury buyers that stuff matters more than a badge.

2017 Acura RDX Review - All You Need To Know About Acura RDX

There are cars that appeal to your emotional sign in cars that don't and then there's the Acura RDX occupies the elusive middle ground between passion and practicality put it another way accurate hit the sweet spot with the latest small SUV yeah even the look at here's to this conservatively appealing approach saying goes for the interior which peak is a simple yet elegant layout I'll aided by supremely comfortable front seats high quality materials where accounts and an impressively natural driving position out back the rear seats provide plenty of legroom for most adults while a completely flat floor affords true five-passenger flexibility when the rear seats are occupied with redundant protoplasm they fold to expose over 77 cubic feet of cargo space significantly more room than its Lexus Audi BMW and Lincoln challengers where the RDX trails the competition however is in the area of entertainment though it still makes use of actors contentious dual screen entertainment platform the RDX incorporates a more simplified and therefore less distracting interface in that unlike the MDX and TLX the climate controls are separate from the touch screen where they belong we're not fans of its placement the dash mounted rotary dial and surrounding controls make it easy to control a cure is outdated application system but enough about meddling multimedia let's get on to the good stuff believe it or not it's actually kind of fun to get behind the wheel of an RDX but not because it's some dynamic dynamo but rather due to the manner in which virtually all of the functions with which you come in contact work exactly how you want them to the seats are comfortable and well bolstered without being intrusive and the armrests are sufficiently padded and the same height yeah stared into a corner the RDX is happy to play on straight stretches of payment the ride is soft but not overly so and the cabin is noticeably quieter than that of the Lexus an axe is an accurate is quieter than Alexis in this case despite the absence of noise cancelling microphones res virtually every competitor comes with a standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine every RDX makes use of a 3.5 litre naturally aspirated v6 it turns out 279 horsepower and 292 pound-feet of torque combined with a smooth shifting 6-speed automatic you already asked and ash from 0 to 60 in nearly six seconds flat well still returning roughly the same combined fuel economy average and it's less powerful rivals regarding the more important numbers only handful of small luxury SUVs and even come close to the RDX is lengthy roster of standard features you were still at the price for about thirty six thousand dollars including destination fees the Acura RDX is generously equipped with niceties like LED headlights and taillights a 10-way power driver's seat back up camera moon roof and pass eventually push button start and in our opinion that's all you really need a lot of an extra few thousand dollars won't break the bank actor will be delighted to sell you an RDX with all-wheel drive he didn't ventilated front seats with driver seat memory a 10-speaker LS audio system that could benefit from mid tone control in the actor watch safety sweet comprised of adaptive cruise control automatic collision breaking and lane departure mitigation seeing as the RDX tops out for other competitors begin luxuries like four-way lumbar support heated steering wheel and a panoramic moon roof are not available yeah well rounded as a term tossed around all too much in the automotive world which isn't fair to vehicles like the RDX that truly embody the designation because here you won't find deal-breakers economic quirks or wildly overpriced add-ons just a comfortable fun to drive small luxury SUV that's loaded with value for dollar.
